With the weather, today's an encore

Hello folks. Today's Cincinnati Advance Radio will still be heard at 1 p.m. via the live WAIF-FM stream, then later distributed as a Podcast with the audio accessible via our Web site. The bulk of the show will be a pre-recorded encore presentation, though, because of the weather.

We'll first hear from the Honorable William Mallory, father of the new Mayor of Cincinnati, Mark Mallory. This never-before-heard-on-the-air interview was recorded before a live audience at Alchemize in Over-the-Rhine prior to a debate between then Sen. Mark Mallory and Council Member David Pepper on October 11, 2005. Then, there will be an encore playing of the Oct. 14 interview of former Cincinnati mayors Roxanne Qualls and David Mann.

The "Advancing Cincinnati" segment will be new, fresh and live as Lydia Stec joins us to share information about Saturday evening's luminaria in Over-the-Rhine's Washington Park. More information is available at www.irhine.com. Or just join us 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday evening in Washington Park, corner of 12th and Race streets. There, Mayor Mark Mallory and Vice Mayor Jim Tarbell will speak. We'll also hear the New Prospect Baptist Church choir, Nast Trinity Church Gospel Choir, Kim Gerhold and her New Thought Unity Hip Hop Girlz and there will be a Chinese Dragon performance by the Know Theatre Tribe. Plus, all those candles. And with the snow, it's going to be beautiful. Stop by and check it out...
